Doshii
Doshii is a service that connects your POS to the other apps a venue uses. Tip Sheet is one of those apps. Your POS plugs into Doshii once, and Doshii passes each order and card payment straight on to Tip Sheet as it happens. In the Integrations tab it is described as Realtime integration with POS transactions.
Two things follow from that:
- You set this up in Doshii, not in Tip Sheet. You switch the Tip Sheet app on for your venue's location in Doshii and choose which Tip Sheet venue it belongs to. The Connect button in Tip Sheet just sends you there.
- Your POS doesn't need its own Tip Sheet connection. If your POS is on Doshii, Doshii is the connection.
Tip Sheet's Lightspeed integration covers K-Series only. If your venue runs Lightspeed Restaurant O-Series, connect it here, through Doshii. The Lightspeed box in Tip Sheet says the same thing.

What comes across
Doshii sends each order through as it is rung up and updated. Tip Sheet keeps:
- Orders — the POS's own order reference, whether the order is still open or finished, and the time it was rung up. Times are put into the venue's own timezone, so an order lands on the right trading day and the right service.
- Card payments on the order — the amount, the tip, the payment's reference and which terminal took it.
- Surcharges and discounts, both on the order and on individual payments.
- Your terminals — ID, name, ref, description and area. This is the list you choose from if you decide to count only some of them.
If the venue's service charge setting is Automatic and a surcharge's name matches one of the venue's service charges, the part of that surcharge that counts as tips is added to the order's service charge.
Hours don't come from Doshii. It carries no rosters or timesheets, so staff hours still come from your timesheet integration.
What counts towards tips:
- Orders that are pending, accepted or complete count. Cancelled, rejected and venue-cancelled orders are kept for the record but add nothing to sales or tips.
- A card payment counts once it is complete or waiting. Payments still pending, requested, cancelled or rejected count as zero — so a tip can read as nil until the payment settles.
- An order that comes to nothing — no sale and no tip — is skipped.
Before you start
- Your POS must already be live on Doshii. Tip Sheet joins a Doshii location; it can't create one. Doshii lists the POS systems it works with at doshii.com — at the time of writing that's Abacus, Bepoz, Eposnow, GaP Solutions, H&L, Idealpos, Impos, Lightspeed, Oolio, OrderMate, SplitAbility, Square and SwiftPOS, with Clover coming soon. The list changes, so check it. If your POS isn't on it, ask Tip Sheet support about the other POS connections.
- A venue takes one POS. If another POS is already connected, Connect is greyed out and hovering it says Only one integration is possible at a time. Disconnect the other one first.
- You need permission to change the venue's integrations. Whoever authorises it in Doshii signs in with their Tip Sheet login, and Doshii only offers them the venues that login is allowed to set up.
- Integrations live in the admin view, under a venue's Integrations tab.
Connecting it
-
In the admin view, open the venue and go to the Integrations tab.
-
Select Connect on the Doshii tile. Tip Sheet opens the Tip Sheet listing on Doshii's app marketplace in a new tab.
-
In Doshii, add the Tip Sheet app to your venue's location and follow Doshii's prompts. You'll be asked to sign in with your Tip Sheet login.
-
Doshii then shows the Tip Sheet venues you're allowed to set up. Choose the one this location trades as.
-
Go back to the Integrations tab and refresh. The Doshii tile now reads Connected.
Orders arrive from that point on. There's nothing to schedule.
Two Tip Sheet venues sharing one POS
Sometimes one Doshii location covers what Tip Sheet treats as two venues — a restaurant and a bar on the same POS that split their tips separately. Both venues then see the same orders, and each one counts only its own terminals.
You can't set the second venue up yourself; the option only appears for Tip Sheet staff. Connect the first venue from Doshii as above, then ask support to add the second — they'll need the Doshii Location ID the first venue uses. If selecting Connect just opens the Doshii website instead of a box, that's normal.
Choose what's included
Once Doshii is connected, choose Manage on the tile to see the connection and pick which terminals count towards this venue.
The top of the box shows which venue this is — primary for the venue that made the connection, secondary for a second venue sharing it — and the Doshii Location ID. Both are read only. Below that:
- Enable POS filters — leave it off and every terminal at the location counts towards this venue. Turn it on to count only some.
- Available Terminals — the terminals Doshii currently has for your location, with a tick box on each row.
Counting only some terminals
- Turn Enable POS filters on. If you've never set this before, every terminal is ticked to start with.
- Untick the terminals that aren't this venue's. The tick box in the header selects or clears everything on screen.
- Select Area narrows the list to one area. Terminals with no area set are grouped under No Area.
- Select Save.
Only the terminals showing on screen are saved. If an area is selected when you save, terminals in the other areas are dropped from your list. Clear the Select Area dropdown first, so the whole list is showing.
Save stays greyed out if the switch is on and nothing is ticked. Tick at least one terminal, or turn the switch off to go back to counting everything.
Two things to know once you're counting only some terminals:
- A payment that arrives without a terminal on it isn't counted at all. If some of your terminals don't report which one they are, leave filtering off.
- Changing your selection redoes past days automatically, so earlier tip sheets match the new list.
Keeping it running
Bringing in past orders. Choose Import Data from the tile's menu. Tip Sheet asks Import orders for last two weeks (pay periods)? — confirm with Import. It runs in the background, so watch the job notification at the bottom left or the notification bell rather than waiting on a box. Running it again is safe: an order that comes through twice replaces the one already there rather than adding a second copy.
New terminals. When a terminal is added or changed at your location, Tip Sheet emails the venue with the subject "Doshii - Terminal(s) Changed". If you count only some terminals, treat that email as a prompt to open Manage and decide whether the new one belongs to this venue — new terminals are not added to your list on their own.
Disconnecting. Choose Disconnect from the tile's menu. Tip Sheet warns you first, and what happens depends on which venue you're on:
- The venue that made the connection — This will impact all automated imports. This will also disconnect secondary connections, if any. Orders stop arriving, and any second venue sharing the same location is disconnected too.
- A second venue sharing the connection — This will impact all automated imports. You will not be able to add back this connection. Only that venue stops. The other one carries on.
Switching the Tip Sheet app off at the Doshii end has the same effect as disconnecting the venue that made the connection.
Reconnecting. Connect again the same way you did the first time — from Doshii. Nothing expires here and there's no password to renew, so if orders have stopped arriving it's almost always because the Tip Sheet app was switched off at the Doshii end.
If something looks wrong
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Connect is greyed out, tooltip Only one integration is possible at a time | The venue already has another POS connected, and a venue takes only one | Disconnect the existing POS first |
| Selecting Connect opens doshii.com instead of a box | Normal. Doshii connections are made in Doshii | Carry on in Doshii; the tile reads Connected afterwards |
| Tips are missing from some terminals | You're counting only some terminals and these aren't on the list, or those payments arrive without a terminal on them | Open Manage, clear the Select Area dropdown, tick the missing terminals and save — or turn Enable POS filters off altogether |
| Terminals dropped off your list after saving | An area was selected when you saved, so only that area's terminals were kept | Open Manage, clear Select Area, re-tick everything you need and save again |
| A new terminal's sales aren't counted | It was added at the POS after you set your list | You'll have had the "Doshii - Terminal(s) Changed" email — open Manage and add it |
| Orders arrive but the tips are zero | The card payments hadn't settled when the order came through, or the POS recorded no tip | Wait for the POS to finish the payments, then run Import Data |
| Cancelled orders show in the record but not in the tip pool | Cancelled, rejected and venue-cancelled orders are kept for the record only | Nothing — that's intended |
| Nothing has arrived since a certain date | The Tip Sheet app was switched off for the location in Doshii | Check the app is still on in Doshii, connect again if not, then run Import Data to catch up |
| Support gets There are no primary endpoints configured for the given location id. when adding a second venue | The first venue isn't connected yet, or the Location ID doesn't match | Connect the first venue from Doshii, then give support that venue's Location ID again |
