What is Tip Sheet?
Tip Sheet collects the tips your venue takes, works out what each person has earned under the rules you set, and prepares the payment. This page explains how the pieces fit together and where to find each one.
From raw data to paid staff
Four stages, and your systems do most of the work. Tips arrive from your POS, hours arrive from your timesheet system, and Tip Sheet does the rest as the data lands.
A tip belongs to the shift that earned it.
This is the idea the whole product is built around. An 8pm tip goes to whoever was on at 8pm — not shared flatly across everyone who worked that week. Nobody runs this process; it happens as the data arrives.
Service periods
Split the day into lunch, dinner or any periods you like. Tips land in the period they were taken.
Departments
Give kitchen, bar and front of house each a share of the pool, set as percentages you control.
Tip points
Weight individuals by seniority or role, so a section leader can earn a larger share than a trainee.
Tip earning hours
Decide which hours qualify, with cut-off times and minimum or maximum hours per shift.
Custom hours
Override the defaults for a public holiday or a one-off event, without disturbing any other day.
Multi-venue pooling
Garnish a share of tips from frontline venues into a shared venue, for staff who support several sites.
The parts of the product
Each part has its own guide — this is the map.
Dashboard
Daily collections by service period, tips by department, top earners, and tips as a percentage of POS sales.
Tip sheets
Daily and weekly views of hours, points and earnings per person. Overrides are tracked and can be reverted.
Payouts
Lock a period, mark it paid, generate the bank file, and send each person a breakdown of what they earned.
Integrations
Connect your timesheet system and your POS once, and they keep themselves up to date. One of each per venue.
Roles and permissions
Control who can edit tips, view bank details, unlock periods or approve payments — per business and per venue.
Audit trail
Every override, unlock and payment recorded against the person who made it, filterable by user and venue.
Where Tip Sheet stops
Worth being clear about, because it shapes how you use it: Tip Sheet never pays your employees. It prepares the run — your venue makes the payment.
Tip Sheet does
- Import tips from your POS and hours from your timesheet system
- Calculate each person's share against the rules you set
- Produce an auditable tip sheet you approve
- Generate one bank file for the whole pay run
- Email each person a breakdown of what they earned
Tip Sheet does not
- Move money or hold funds on your behalf
- Pay staff directly — you upload the file to your own bank
- Run payroll, tax or superannuation
- Decide your tipping policy for you
