Account and billing FAQ
Quick answers about your own login and your business's subscription. Each answer links to the full guide.
I've lost my phone or authenticator app. How do I sign in?
If you set up a second verification method, choose Use a different method on the code screen. If you didn't, email Tip Sheet support at support@tipsheet.com.au and they'll reset your two-step verification so you can set it up again. The code screen suggests asking your manager, but managers can't reset it, so go straight to support. See Locked out of two-step verification.
How do I reset my Tip Sheet password?
Choose Forgot your password? on the Sign in screen, enter your email and choose Send reset code. Tip Sheet emails you a six-digit code; enter it with your new password on Choose a new password. Five wrong passwords within an hour stops sign-ins from that connection for 15 minutes, so wait before trying again. See Forgotten your password.
Why is Tip Sheet asking me for a code?
Tip Sheet asks for a code when you sign in on a new device or browser, or one it hasn't trusted in the last 30 days. Once you pass the check, that browser is trusted for 30 days. Logging out with Forget this device ticked, or Sign out everywhere, means a code next time. An email headed Unusual sign-in on your Tip Sheet account is expected after signing in somewhere new. See Two-step verification.
My authenticator app codes stopped working. What happened?
Tip Sheet's sign-in changed in September 2026, and authenticator apps set up before then no longer work. Your password is the same. Sign in, set up Authenticator app again when asked, and delete the old Tip Sheet entry from your app. Text-message codes carried over unchanged. See Your login and security.
Can I turn off two-step verification?
No. Two-step verification is compulsory for everyone who signs in with a password. Signing in with Google skips it, because Google has already checked it's you. Only Tip Sheet support can switch it off for an account. See Two-step verification.
How do I change the email address I sign in with?
Contact Tip Sheet support at support@tipsheet.com.au. Your email can't be changed on the Account Security page, though your mobile number can. See Your account.
How do I update our card or billing details?
Change the card through Manage subscription on the Subscription tab of Business Profile, in the admin view. The business name, billing contact and billing address on your invoices come from the Basic details tab: choose Edit on the section, update it and Save. See Update your card or billing details.
Where do I find our Tip Sheet invoices?
There's no invoice list in Tip Sheet itself. The Subscription tab of Business Profile shows the bill for each earlier billing period and whether it's been paid: choose one from the picker, or from a bar on the chart of the last six periods. Manage subscription opens your billing page for the rest. If you can't find the invoice you need, email support@tipsheet.com.au. See Subscription and billing.
What counts as a billable staff member?
A billable staff member is anyone marked active at a venue for 24 hours or more during a billing period. Tip Sheet has one plan, charged per billable staff member, so the bill follows your head count. The Subscription tab shows each venue's count, updated once a day. See Subscription and billing.
Why does Tip Sheet say Your subscription is inactive?
The business's subscription has been cancelled or paused, which locks everyone out until it's fixed. The business owner or a business admin sees Reactivate subscription, or Add a payment method if there's no valid card, and can fix it on the spot. Everyone else needs to ask them. See If the subscription lapses.
Who can see our subscription?
The business owner, business admins, and anyone given the Can manage subscriptions permission. Only they see the Subscription tab on Business Profile; everyone else with admin access sees just Basic details. See Subscription and billing.
When does our free trial start?
The trial starts on its own once your staff are in Tip Sheet and POS tips start coming in. Until then the business is on the free plan. Add a payment method before the trial ends so nothing interrupts you. See The trial.
