Employee Tip Report

The Employee Tip Report shows what each person has earned, week by week, across every venue they work at. It's in the admin view: Reports, then Employee Tip Report.

The Employee Tip Report: a search box, Filters, the weeks covered and an Export button above a list of staff with their weeks and total tipsSearch by nameFiltersExport

One row per person. Weeks counts each week once, however many venues they worked at that week.

The columns are Employee, Weeks and Total tips. Total, at the foot, adds up everyone listed. The dates beside Filters show the weeks the report covers.

It opens on the four weeks up to the most recent Sunday, for every active venue.

Find one person

Type their name in Search by name. The list narrows as you type.

See the detail for one person

Choose the arrow beside a name. You get one line per venue per week, with the department they were paid as and the week's status.

Denzel Washington's row opened: eight lines across two venues and four weeks, with Paid, Locked and In progress statuses

Denzel Washington works in the kitchen at two venues. The last week is still in progress, so those two amounts can change.

Choose what it covers

Choose Filters. A number beside it means something is narrowing the report.

The Filter by panel: Venues, Staff status, Week status and Weeks, with Clear filters, Cancel and ApplyThen Apply
FilterWhat it does
VenuesThe venues to include. Only active venues are listed.
Staff statusActive, Incoming, Waiting or Inactive. Leave it on Any to include everyone.
Week statusIn progress, Locked or Paid. Leave it on Any to include all three.
WeeksThe first and last day. Only a Monday can start the range and only a Sunday can end it, and the end can't be in the future.

Nothing changes until you choose Apply. It needs at least one venue and the weeks. Clear filters empties every box, the weeks included, so pick new weeks before you apply again.

Weeks in progress are included

Unless you filter them out, the totals include weeks that aren't locked yet, so they can still change. Set Week status to Locked and Paid to see only settled figures. Hidden weeks are always left out.

Export it

The Export icon, at the right of the toolbar, has two downloads. It's greyed out when the list is empty.

The Export menu: Summary and Week by week

ExportWhat's in it
SummaryOne row per person: name, number of weeks and total tips.
Week by weekOne row per person, per venue, per week: the same lines as the opened rows above.

Both are Excel files. They include everyone in the list at the time, so any search or filters you've applied carry through to the file.

Email staff their tip payment summary

This emails each person a summary of what they were paid over the weeks in your filters, venue by venue.

  1. Set the filters and choose Apply. The email uses the filters you applied, not ones you've changed since.
  2. Tick the people to email. The box in the heading ticks everyone listed.
  3. Choose Email tip summaries. It appears beside the count, such as 3 selected, once someone is ticked.

  1. Check the box, then choose Send to 3 people. Cancel closes it without sending.

The Email tip summaries box, with Cancel and Send to 3 people

Each person gets an email, Your Tip Payment Summary, with a View Tip Payment Summary button. It opens a page showing their name, the business, the weeks, a line for each venue and a total. They don't need to sign in.

When it's done, a message says how many people it went to. If anyone has no email address, Tip Sheet lists them under No email address, so you can add one and send again.

Lock every week first

If any ticked person has tips in a week that's still in progress, nothing is sent. Tip Sheet names the venue and week that's holding it up. Either lock that week, or set Week status to Locked and Paid, apply, and send again.

  • Only locked and paid amounts are included. People with nothing to be paid over those weeks aren't emailed.
  • The links keep working. Sending again doesn't stop earlier links. The amounts are worked out again each time someone opens the page, so if a week is unlocked and changed, the page shows the new figures.

This is a different email from the weekly payout email, which you send from the tip sheet or the Venue Status Report. See Send the payout emails.
