Set custom hours for a venue
Custom Hours replace a venue's Default Timings on the days you choose: a public holiday, a live music night, a one-off early close. On those days, Tip Sheet shares tips using their service periods and tip earning hours instead of the defaults. Every other day stays as it was.
Custom Hours are set in the admin view, on a frontline venue's Venue Timings tab. The effect shows in the venue view: on the daily tip sheet, those days carry a Custom hours tag in the colour you chose.
Before you start
- You need permission to manage service periods and tip earning hours for the venue. Without it you can open custom hours and read them, but not change them.
- Days in a locked or paid week can't change. The calendar shades those weeks, and their custom hours open read-only. Unlock the week first if you genuinely need to, and reverse the payment before that if it has already been paid.
Add custom hours
Open Venues, choose the venue, then the Venue Timings tab. Custom Hours is under Default Timings: a month calendar on the left, and Coming up on the right, listing the next day each set of custom hours falls on.
1. Add custom hoursOr open one to change itA grey week is locked; a green one is paid.
Choose Add custom hours, or click a free day on the calendar. A panel opens, already filled with the venue's default timings, so you only change what's different.

- Title. What the calendar and the Coming up list show, such as Melbourne Cup.
- Days. One day, or a run of up to 7. Add custom hours starts on the first free day from today; change it here.
- Repeats. Does not repeat, or a choice named after the first day, such as Weekly on Friday, Monthly on day 16 or Annually on October 16. Use a repeat for a standing exception, like later hours every Friday.
- Colour on the calendar. Also the colour of the tag on the tip sheet.
- Service periods on these days. The same table as Default Timings: rename, retime, remove or add services for these days, and choose a service's Tip earning rules to change its start, end, cut-off, minimum and maximum hours, or the ignore boxes. See Tip earning hours.
- Choose Save.

If the venue splits card tips by Custom Percentages (see Tip Rules), each service in the panel also asks for its Share of the day's card tips, and the shares must add up to 100%.
Saving sorts those days' card tips into the new service periods and works the days out again.
Leaving without saving
The panel stays open until you choose Save or Cancel; clicking outside it or pressing Escape doesn't close it. Cancel with changes made asks first:

Discard closes the panel and keeps nothing. Cancel goes back to the panel.
Change or delete custom hours
Click them on the calendar, or in the Coming up list, to open them. Change what you need and choose Save, or choose Delete at the foot of the panel. Deleting asks first, and the days go back to the default timings.
Right-click custom hours on the calendar for Copy and Delete. Right-click a free day to Paste a copy there.

Repeating custom hours ask which days you mean before they save or delete. Opened from Saturday 24 October, the choices read:
| Choice | What changes |
|---|---|
| Sat, 24 Oct only | That day. The other days keep the custom hours as they are. |
| Sat, 24 Oct and every one after it | That day and the later ones. Earlier days stay as they are. |
| All of them | Every day they fall on. |
So you can end or change a repeat without rewriting the weeks already worked.
